AMAZON has released a wave of surprise deals on its lineup of devices, and we’ve spotted a winner among its Fire tablets.
You can find the Fire HD 8 tablet reduced to just £69.99 in the sale, down from the usual price of £99.99.

We often see Amazon treat shoppers to limited-time deals, and right now that extends to its own line of smart devices.
The Fire tablets have consistently been our go-to budget picks. But, it’s the Fire HD 8 tablet in particular that has caught our attention.
You’ll currently see it reduced from nearly £100 to a much more affordable £69.99, and it’s popular with shoppers.
The Alexa-enabled device is a great way to access the internet and streaming apps without breaking the bank on pricer alternatives like Apple.
It boasts an 8-inch HD display and, thanks to recent upgrades, is 30% faster than the previous generation of Fire tablets.
You’ll have up to 13 hours of reading, browsing the web, watching videos and listening to music, all of which can be accessed with Alexa voice command.
This deal comes as part of a wider sale on devices at the moment, with Amazon’s Kindle offerings also seeing significant savings.
You’ll be able to pick up the feature-rich Kindle Paperwhite reduced £124.99 from £149.99, which comes with an adjustable warm light for day or night.
I’ve compared both in my Amazon Fire tablet vs Kindle explainer and found that for shoppers looking for more from their device, the Fire tablet is your best bet.
The Fire tablet stands out as an exceptional all-purpose device, perfect for both browsing and streaming content, but it depends on what you are looking for.
Of course, not all users will require the additional features. If the primary purpose is reading, then the Kindle is the device to prioritize.
It features a far superior battery life and an adjustable amber light perfect for reading.
The Fire tablet boasts a commendable 4.5-out-of-5 star rating on the Amazon site, with customers particularly impressed by its performance and quality.
One shopper praised: ‘Very happy with Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet. [I] bought it as a replacement for an Amazon Fire HD 10, which got water damaged, but due to its size, weight, and clarity, it is a great replacement for pure Kindle Readers, very easy to use in this regard.’
The same user admitted the ‘quality is superb’ for users who are primarily looking to buy a tablet for streaming internet content.
Another wrote: ‘[I] bought this as an upgrade for my first Kindle which I traded in. The screen resolution is great and if it lasts as long as my previous Kindle, I’ll be very impressed. It has a good amount of memory and downloads everything really fast.’
A third concluded: ‘If you’re looking for a good value tablet that doesn’t need all the bells and whistles, then this is a good one to buy. Good for Amazon Kindle and Internet access. It probably does a lot more than I need it for.’
Yesterday I spotted a great deal that left shoppers ‘thoroughly impressed’ as the Blink Mini camera slashed from £60 to £42, and it’s ideal for keeping an eye on elderly relatives or pets.
Our tech reporter Rhys Melahdo-Thompson also spotted another winner as the ‘game-changer’ Tapo camera was reduced from £35 to £21.
