Android fans looking for an affordable alternative will be glad to know the Google Pixel was created specifically with this in mind, as it’s known as a budget-friendly alternative to the widely popular Pixel 7.
The price drop has gone down a hit with shoppers as we spotted the device sitting at number 12 on Amazon’s best-selling smartphones.
Senior Tech Editor Jamie Harris was lucky enough to take it for a spin, and gave it an in-depth verdict in his Google Pixel 7a review.
The Pixel is fitted with the lightning-fast Tensor G2 chip that makes for a faster and more secure smartphone so your information stays private.
Jamie also found it helps ‘you to take lightning-fast shots with little interruption.’
The chip doesn’t stop at making for a faster phone, it also helps improve phone call audio – so you hopefully won’t have to ask people to repeat themselves when you are in loud settings.
Lastly, it also aids in extending the battery life of the phone making sure that the 4385mAh battery provides you with a full day of usage.
And if things get dire, you can turn on the ”extreme battery saver mode” for up to 72 hours of battery life.
A good quality camera is also usually something that we can’t live without – even when we’re hunting for devices on a budget.
The Pixel 7 has great reviews when it comes to its camera, even if you’re more of a night owl.
In fact, Jamie ‘was surprised how well some of the images turned out at a gig given how dark it was with very limited light at times.’
Fortunately, the Pixel 7a’s rear 64-megapixel camera system is going to provide you with crystal clear photos with help from advanced image processing that can fix low light or blurry photos you nabbed on a night out.
While this might be a standout device for Android fans, Apple fans interested in making the switch will be happy to know they can also swap contacts, messages, photos and apps to the Pixel 7a fairly easily.
The smartphone has much praise on the retail giant’s site, with one customer saying: ‘[It’s] one of the best mid-range phones and also got a fast charge adapter. Totally worth it.’
Another shopper on Amazon wrote: ‘Excellent camera quality. The phone is super fast, and [it] charges quickly. The battery lasts me all day even though I use it regularly, and [it] doesn’t overheat.’
