There is a huge range of Android devices on the market to choose from, and Honor is one of the biggest tech brands on the planet, attempting to cement itself alongside Samsung and Google as major player on the market.
Honor devices have seen a significant increase since it was sold by its parent company Huawei in 2020, and after taking a quick look under the hood of this device, it’s evident why.
The Magic 6 Lite is undoubtedly a budget-end, cost-conscious choice, but don’t let lower prices trick you into thinking the device doesn’t hold up well against current flagship devices.
Interestingly, it actually bests current flagship devices in the battery-capacity department as well as the megapixel size of the rear camera.
Despite costing a fraction of, say, the premium Honor Magic V2, the Honor Magic 6 Lite packs a substantial 6.78-inch AMOLED display, making it larger than both Apple‘s iPhone 15 and just 0.02 inches smaller than Samsung’s S24 Ultra.
The rear configuration includes a 108MP lossless Capture triple-lens camera, which is actually double that of most flagship devices, so ensuring your social media photos are up to scratch won’t be an issue.
As you can see, it still has a lot of reliable and current tech. It will, however, be missing some features and frills you’ve come to expect from leading devices.
Also, checking the battery life every hour to ensure you’ll make it through the day will be a thing of the past.
The Magic 6 Lite’s battery is an industry-leading 5330mAh, so you shouldn’t have to pack your charger on every outing.
Remember: you’ll be getting two devices since Mobiles.co.uk is throwing in the Honor Pad X8 tablet for free, and it’s currently selling for £129.99 on the Honor website.
The tablet comes with 64GB of storage, but if that’s not enough and you feel it is filling up too quickly, you can add up to 512GB.
It’s not clunky either: actually, it’s thinner than most smartphones, making taking it on the go a breeze if you want to pack lightly.
The 10.1 inch full HD display is accompanied by a movie theatre-quality audio system, so you can really get lost in your favourite movies and shows.
Ultimately, it looks like a tablet that’s ideal for smaller tasks that you may not want a chunkier laptop for, like streaming, browsing the internet or checking the occasional email.
As mentioned before, shopping around for the right Android takes a little bit of work. If you’re weighing up other options, last week I spotted a great £13-per-month Galaxy A15 plan from iD Mobile.
At the other end of the price spectrum, Honor has just released a brand-new foldable handset in the form of the Honor Magic V2, and it’s available with a free pair of B&O headphones worth £459.
