WE’RE almost halfway through Amazon Prime Day, and one of my favourite deals is on a budget-friendly projector.
For Prime Day, the WiMiUS Mini Projector has been slashed by 33%. Coupled with the £20 voucher, the total cost is down from £149.99 to just £79.99.

With massive streaming platforms like Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ having fantastic exclusive movies, upgrading your home screen can make a world of difference for movie night.
Setting yourself up with a mini projector could be the answer to cosier movie nights, especially now projectors are also capable of 4K displays, so you’re not sacrificing quality.
Amazon customers seem to be looking to upgrade their home viewing experience, as I spotted this projector sitting at the number 10 spot for best-selling projectors– it’s also the most wished-for projector currently, so why not grab it while it’s on sale?
You can set the projector anywhere from 3.6 feet to 17.7 feet, and as long as it’s within those parameters, you’ll have access to a screen up to 120 inches.
If you’re looking to ditch the cables or plan to set up in the garden while the weather is still warm, the projector uses 5G and 2.4G dual-band WiFi, meaning less latency between the stream.
For those who want to venture a little further than the garden, it only weighs 1.32 pounds, so the only extra weight you have to worry about is the snacks.
It’s not just movie nights. This projector is great for any gamers out there. You will be pleased to know it’s equipped with HDMI, USB, and 3.5mm audio plugs, making for an easy connection to TV sticks, PS5s, Nintendo Switches and Xbox.
It is worth noting that this projector supports 1080p Full HD with a resolution of 1280*720p, so it won’t be 4K.
One Amazon shopper notes: ‘First off, its portability is unbeatable. Small enough to fit in a backpack yet sturdy and well-built, it’s perfect for travel or outdoor gatherings.’
‘Setting it up is a breeze, and the adjustable focus always ensures a clear image.’
Another shopper notes, ‘[It] came well packaged with all the instructions & was very easy to set up to get going.’
‘Adjustment of different screen sizes works well and has plenty of settings to suit your needs.’
‘The remote control is perfect for navigating through menus & works flawlessly.’
‘The picture quality is superb and upscales to your desirable size quickly by placing it anywhere you want.’
As with TVs, you’ve got to shop around a little to ensure the projector you’re picking up is right for you.
In fact, while hunting for this deal, I came across the XGIMI Horizon 4K Projector; it is quite a bit more costly than the WiMiUS projector, but if you’re after 4K, you’ll need to spend the money.
The XGIMI Projector supports a maximum resolution of 4K at 60Hz, but you’ll also get better speakers, as the built-in Harman Kardon speakers support the highly coveted Dolby Digital sound.
Fans of smart home features can also control it with their voice thanks to Google Assistant, which is an excellent addition for Android users.
However, as seems to be the case with most projectors, you’ll be unable to stream apps like Netflix and Prime Video and will need to use Google Chromecast, a wired connection, or streaming from your phone.

Projectors are great for a movie-esque feel, but that doesn’t mean they will replace your TV.
If you’re looking to upgrade your TV, Tech Writer Tom Tyers spotted a ‘seriously impressive’ 55-inch Fire TV slashed to £330 from £550 for Prime Day.
As always, you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime member to get these juicy deals, so if you haven’t already, start that free trial. If you’ve already used it, now’s a great time to sign back up for Prime.
