DRONES have a reputation as gadgets that come at sky-high costs – but there’s plenty of cheaper deals if you’re just looking for a spot of fun this summer.
Amazon has slashed the price of the Honivon Drone by 20% and it’s dropped from £49.99 to £37.99.

£37.99 with voucher (was £49.99)
The sale price on this remote-controlled gizmo is £39.99, but if you click the voucher box on the product page, you can save an extra 5%.
Professional-level drones can cost thousands of pounds, but there are plenty of options out there for less than £100 that are more suited to youngsters and curious amateurs.
Budget-end drones are a great way to have some fun in the sun; think of them as a higher-tech version of a kite but without the need for perfect wind conditions.
The Honivon Drone may not have all the features of professional level drones from brands like DJI, but I was still impressed by some of the specs and features advertised on the Amazon site.
It has lots of beginner-friendly features: the smart hover function is especially great if you’re figuring out the basics, as you can set a height for the drone to stay at while you record or navigate..
The Honiton Drone is especially great if you’ve got kids or you’re just entering the world of flying drones.
Emergency stop is fantastic if you’re going to be handing the controls over to the children as you never know what they’ll get up to and there would be nothing worse than losing your new drone.
Other features like obstacle avoidance and one-touch landing help you get to grips with the basics before moving on to more advanced moves like flips, 360s and barrel rolls.
One Amazon shopper notes: ‘The camera captures clear and crisp images both day and night, and the FPV real-time transmission feature makes it easy to share my flying adventures with family and friends.’
Another states, ‘The drone offers exceptional value for its price, making it a great choice for both beginners and experienced users alike.’
‘One of the standout features of this drone is its impressive camera quality.’
‘The images captured are sharp, clear, and vibrant, thanks to its high-resolution camera.’
If you’re much more experienced in flying drones you might want to check out other options like the DJI – emphasis on much more experienced.
The reason you’ll want to be far more experienced is simply the eye-watering price tag of £1,049.
It does, however come with many more features than the Honivon – which I’m guessing you’d assume, given that price difference.
There’s an emphasis on immersive flying, so you’re equipped with goggles as a part of your purchase giving you the feeling you’re sat in the cockpit as you soar through the sky.
Your hand becomes the controller, with simple gestures you’re able to control the drones movements meaning even less experienced fliers can experience the fun of a high end drone.
